Clove

I have a long and sordid history with my Thyroid. I have had it tested multiple times, because I have all the symptoms, but for years the tests came back saying nothing was wrong. Enter my natural health phase, and through my research, I realized that just because what they were testing came back fine didn’t mean there wasn’t something wrong. When I went to my doctor and asked that they test not just what my thyroid was putting out, but what was happening with the hormones, we found that there was a conversion problem. So, although my thyroid makes enough hormone, my body isn’t getting enough of what it needs. I am currently on NT Thyroid, which is a generic for Armour thyroid (aka dessicated pig thyroid)–but I started using oils last week so that I can stop taking it. So far, I’m avoiding my mid-afternoon crash, which is awesome, and I’m not craving sugar at all either, which is another excellent plus. I’ll keep you posted on my progress, as I expect it will take a bit of time to fully kick in. In the meantime, here’s what I’m using:

Peppermint

Hypothyroid Blend

10 drops Clove doTERRA essential oil

10 drops Peppermint doTERRA essential oil

10 drops Lemongrass doTerra essential oil

Fractionated Coconut Oil

I put everything in a little roller bottle, and just keep it in my pocket. Multiple times a day, I pull it out and put in right on my thyroid area.

I’m also taking 2 drops of Frankincense in a capsule twice a day, and drinking Lemon oil in my water. I’m considering adding Myrrh into my regimen too. Doing more research.

  • My 23 year old daughter has a mix of both Graves and Hashimoto’s, I just started with doTerra and would love to get her off of her med’s and just use the oils, I think they would help her so much better, I was just wondering what size roller bottle you put your blend in or do you use a spray bottle and what has been your experience these blends?

  • I have extreme itching for years do you?

    • If it’s a rash, apply 1-2 drops of zendocrine essential oil onto your rash, it should relieve you of the itchy side effects. Afterwards, you can apply 1-2 drops of lavender and peppermint to sooth additional itchiness.

  • I’d love to hear an update. I just took clove, peppermint, and lemongrass and applied it to my thyroid, (mixed with FCO) and will continue to do so. Thanks for the suggestion. I hope you’re dong well :-)

    • Yes I get that too but I know my body and would tell them it wasn’t ok. Hyper for my first 40 yrs hyo for the last 20. Starting the recipe this week and doing a candeda diet. Praying it all blends so my body will stop attackung me. Prayers!

  • Very interesting! I’d link to try this, as well. How much of the fractionated coconut oil do you use when mixing?

    • I have been doing what the original says. same number of oil (I use olive)
      as the other drops. When I use it I feel better. Still taking my Armour Thyroid. But I do have days when I feel off.

  • I went to mix this today and realized that it didn’t say how much fractionated coconut oil to use. Can you tell me how much you are supposed to use?

  • Has anyone heard back from April? I’d really like to know if this remedy worked for her. Someone please let me know. Or if someone else tried this, please let me know how it worked for you.

  • What if you don’t use the FCO? I have mixed it in a bottle and just applied some.
